Choosing the Right Shampoo and Conditioner Bars for Your Hair Type

I know what you’re going to say, there are different types of shampoo and conditioner bars- whaaat?!

As if zero-waste lifestyles aren’t confusing enough!

If you’re new to shampoo and conditioner bars or are having a hard time with the transition, this post is just for you.

I am going to break down what shampoo and conditioner bars are, how they work, and share the benefits of using them. This way you can make an informed decision about what is right for your hair type. It really doesn't have to be so complicated.

I’m also going to help you identify the ingredients that we use so you can feel more knowledgable when buying zero waste hair products. Not to mention, I will also put your mind at ease so that you know that your money is well spent.

Shampoo and conditioner bars are just concentrated forms of the liquid, bottled stuff, minus the water. You have enough free water in your shower so why pay for it?

You really don't need any specific type of shampoo because all it does is cleanse. the conditioner is what really shines and where the difference comes in with how they are formulated.

We formulated a shampoo bar for all hair types and added different fragrances so that you can choose what you like. Some of the benefits of using shampoo bars include:

    • Gentle cleansing with no harsh chemicals
    • Plastic-free
    • One bar = 2-3 bottles of liquid shampoo, so you get bang for your buck!
    • Vegan and cruelty-free
    • No sulfates, parabens, or phthalates
    • Travel friendly!

    How do you use it?

          1. Wet hair thoroughly with warm water
          2. Wet the shampoo bar and lather it in your hands or apply it directly to the roots and ends of hair
          3. Give your head and hair a well-deserved massage
          4. Rinse your hair with warm water. Follow up with the conditioner bar that is perfect for your hair type

That leads me to share a bit more about our conditioner bars and what makes them special.

First of all, there aren't many conditioner bars out there and the ones that are available only cater to Caucasian (White) hair. You will not find any conditioner bars specifically crafted for afro hair outside of this web store.

I also learned from asking my customers that curly or straight Caucasian can also be dry. I was mind blown! So basically, I created conditioner bars that will serve women from all ethnic groups: those who have normal to oily hair, and those who have dry, curly hair, or even locs.

The reviews and feedback I've gotten on these bars have been super positive and very encouraging so I know I'm doing something well.

Some of the benefits of using our conditioner bars include:

    • Restores moisture
    • Conditions & softens
    • Repairs & rejuvenates
    • Increases shine
    • Controls frizz
    • One bar = 2-3 bottles
    • Vegan and cruelty-free
    • No sulfates, parabens, or phthalates
    • Travel friendly!

    How do you use it?

    1. Apply the conditioner bar to your hair from root to tip, completely coating your strands. Let it sit for 2 minutes to penetrate

    2. Rinse with warm water and style as usual.

Best of all are the ingredients that I use to create these bars.

So, if you are still on the fence about switching to shampoo and conditioner bars, it's time to hop off and pick a side!

I hope you feel more educated now about how these nifty little bars can help you cleanse, detangle, and moisturize your hair knowing that you are using nature's best to treat your hair.
